You Will Do Foolish Things

July 31st, 2006 by Laura Moncur in Motivation
You will do foolish things, but do them with enthusiasm.
Colette, in New York World-Telegram and Sun, 1961

How I wish someone had said this to me. During my teens and early twenties, I was so worried about making the wrong decisions or screwing up that I wasted a lot of time just trying to make sure everything was perfect. If only I had the attitude that I have now,

“Sure, I’m going to screw up, but at least I’ll be happy when I’m doing it. Plus, I always learn something.”

I would have been able to enjoy my “foolish things” instead of stressing out over my poorly made decisions.
