They are talking about a first edition of “Alice in Wonderland” but the real story is the author whose collection they are selling.

Edith Wharton was one of the shining stars of American Literature during a time when the United States was in turmoil over the first World War. Her accolades include the Pulitzer Prize and the Legion of Honor. She was a war reporter long before we realized that the media controlled the message.
