The Quotable Woman by Running Press These are not quotes about women, but by women authors. Quotes are organized by subject. I usually don't like segregated things like this (There will never be a book called "The Quotable Man"), but any book with Dorothy Parker quotes is tops with me.
The Book of Positive Quotations by John Cook (Editor) This collection is so large, I had a hard time deciding whether it should go in the reference section or the specialized section. They are all about positive quotes, though, so here they are. This book is organized by subject.
The Forbes Book of Business Quotations : 14,266 Thoughts on the Business of Life by Ted Goodman (Editor), Peter Vecsey Over 1200 pages of business quotes from the publishers of Forbes Magazine (who knows business better?). If you are up for that great promotion, tuck a few of these quotes into your head and get ahead in the world.
Good Advice by William Safire, Leonard Safir (Compiler) There is no better place to find good advice about life, business dealings and fear than from people who have gone through it before. This little book is organized by subject, with simple attributions and many Unknowns or Proverbs. Aside from those minor problems, this book is a lot of fun with cute pictures and great organization.
Words of Wisdom : More Good Advice by William Safire, Leonard Safir (Compiler) More great quotes to help you live your life more fully, from the authors of Good Advice. The cute pictures are gone, but the great organization and the even better quotes are there. If you liked the first book, try the sequel.
Quotations of Wit and Wisdom : Know or Listen to Those Who Know by John William Gardner (Editor), Francesca Gardner Reese 'Even More Good Advice' is what I would call this book. It's not compiled by William Safire, but the content has a similar intent (different quotes, though). This book is organized by subject.
Power Quotes by Daniel B. Baker These are quotes from powerful people, not about power (the quotes are more about politics than anything else). Organized by subject, this book has incredible attributes (quotes from books, newspapers and speeches are all listed as such).
Great Quotes from Great Leaders by Peggy Anderson (Editor) A compilation of quotations from leaders of all sorts, which could serve as inspiration if you're a leader or aspire to be one.
Toasts by Paul Dickson, Rollin McGrail (Illustrator) "Over 1500 of the Best Toasts, Sentiments, Blessings, and Graces" Witty toasts to raise your glass to, such as: "I drink to your health when I'm with you. I drink to your health when I'm alone. I drink to your health so often. I'm beginning to worry about my own." Use it when you know you'll be in the spotlight.
The 776 Even Stupider Things Ever Said by Ross Petras, Kathryn Petras For the many readers still laughing from The 776 Stupidest Things Ever Said, here are 776 even stupider quotes overheard around the world. Heaven knows there is no shortage of stupidity in the world, so this is probably the first of many sequels.
