'Of Mice and Men' is only one of Steinbeck's important novels.
If you enjoyed that you must read, 'The Grapes Of Wrath' which examines the so called Great Depression through the travails of one fairly average family, the Joads. It is perhaps his masterpiece.
Another novel I would suggest you read is his, 'East of Eden'. A retelling of the Cain and Abel myth with capitalism as the overbearing God.
