yes, i know you can just copy past it to facebook but i'm lazy and want a simple click XD

maybe there should be a thing that automatically puts a random quote from the "Your Page" to facebook everyday

I didn't feel there was any advantage in becoming a member of this forum until I wanted to make my first post by asking a question I felt was relevant to a forum about quotations. I accept others may feel differently.
Even if I was only ten years old, however, and wanted to join now, and possibly post later, I don't think I would send a "self-important" message announcing I had just become a member!
Maybe I am being a bit silly but the post in question stayed at the "top of the page" for ages and it annoyed me. You have encouraged sammylo to study the site and perhaps that is the correct approach. I do not believe he/she will appear again but even if I am wrong it will not change my opinion of his/her first post.

Iowa, not everyone is as adept as you appear to be at managing online Forums and many new members post their "arrival" inadvertently in the first and most obvious forum they explore. Also different people greet in different ways, so perhaps a little encouragement would have been preferable to a "put down"??

I simply expressed an opinion about another member's post. I don't see why that makes me "adept---------- at managing online Forums".
Also I cannot understand your statement that "many new members post their "arrival" inadvertently". Surely they take a conscious decision to post. The word "inadvertently" means "without knowledge or intention/ unwittingly" and that can hardly describe the act of posting.
Maybe this is a rather pointless debate over an innocent post. I posted because this forum has an unusually high number of individuals who join, never post, and are never seen even logging in again. I find the very high number puzzling and faintly annoying.
Lastly about the post I criticised; at the time I just felt this character is not going to appear again and, for me, the wording of the post had an air of smugness about it.
